Male arrested after jumping through gardens |
Beat Officers on patrol recently spotted a vehicle linked to suspicious activity in the Washford Farm area. When they attempted to stop the car, the driver decided to fail to stop for Police, resulting in a short vehicle pursuit. After finding himself in a dead end road, the male made a run for it, leading to a foot chase into Singleton. The suspect abandoned the vehicle in the middle of the road and tried to evade officers by leaping over fences and cutting through gardens. Unfortunately for him, his escape plan ended rather unceremoniously when he was found hiding inside a bin by the local beat officer, as well as the owner of the property. He was promptly arrested and has since been charged with multiple offences. Thanks to the swift work local officers, the community is safer and one suspect’s hiding place has become a cautionary tale rather than a clever escape plan.
I am also aware that this incident has likely caused alarm for many people in the location who had seen Police presence in the area, and who were aware that Police were looking for an outstanding suspect. I am glad to say the matter was wrapped up quickly due to the support of the public in the area also, and i would like to thank those that assisted Police in our enquiries yesterday. | ||
